Product Swap
Mrs. Stanford came with a great idea, to swap products from our TPT stores, she will find you a partner and you are going to swap products, but you must print, laminate, and even work with them, grab a kid into the process. How Cool sounds that!!!!! I leave you more info:
1. Email Jessica.Stanford@me.com (it is still ok for people to email... I'll send them to the form :)
2. As soon as you receive a swap partner from Jessica please email them immediately with the product name that you would like to review from their store.
3. After receiving the product from your swap partner print, laminate (if possible), and/or create the product. Take pictures throughout the process if possible. Make the product look its best!!
4. Write and schedule a review of the product blog post for August 1 at 12:00 noon EST and once it posts link it to the linky that will appear on http://MrsStanfordsClass.blogspot.com/
5. The post should include (but should not be limited to):
- a button to the blog of the creator of the product at the top of the post
- a picture of the product with a link to their tpt store
- a few pictures of the product put together/being 'used' ( i know most of us aren't in school, but even if we fill it out or find a kiddo to do it would be great)
- a raving review to draw new buyers to their store!

I have been nominated!!!!!
Wow!!!!!!! Melissa from More Time 2 Teach, nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award!!!!! I'm so happy, thanks a lot Melissa : )
Now I have to follow some really easy rules:
1.Thanks the blogger who nominated you. Done!
2. Include a link to their site. Done!
3. Include the award image in your post. Done!
4. Give 7 random facts about yourself. mmmm, let's see:
* I love tostalk read other teachers blogs. They inspire me, and have changed my way of teaching, thanks a lot!!!!
* I spent half of my teaching time with one 4th grade class, the one I blog about, and the other half with my incredible 6th graders!!!! I should blog about them too, but then I will have to start another blog, and I'm not feeling comfortable with this one yet, I have too much to learn ; )
* I'm a book worm, I love to read, read, and read everything that I can grab that's written in English.
* I speak Spanish, I learned English as a second language since elementary school, I have studied it my whole life, but is thanks to the teacher's blog that I follow that I have become more fluent both oral and writing. So once more thank you!!! By the way if I have mistakes is because I'm still learning.
* Eventhough I was born in Mexico, I'm in love of the U.S., and I think that is why my kiddos love it too.
* I'm addicted to scrapbooking. I have only made two complete albums, and I'm planning to work on more. Don't you love to look at the pictures in such beautiful displays?
*I love vanilla scented candles, I have them all over my home, but I can't light them too often, my kids and DH don't like them a lot : (
After sharing a little bit about myself I have to nominate 15 other blogs, difficult task as I follow so many great ones, so well here we go:

Last year I found an incredible blog that has been a constantly source of inspiration: Step Into Second Grade with Mrs. Lemons. She is incredible, thanks to her and all her clever ideas my kids are having a blast this school years.
Eventhough my kiddos are fourth graders they enjoy her activities, of course I have to change them a little but in general they are hers and I want to recognize her incredible hard work, kindness, and her sharing soul.
Thanks a lot Mrs. Lemons!!!!!!

Daily 5 and Cafe Books
I have been in love with these books since Mrs. Bainbridge introduced them in her classroom blog a couple of years ago. At the beginning I couldn't implement them because of the time that I spend with my kids (only 3 hrs a day) and then there was the problem that I didn't have the books!!!!!
Thanks God for internet, I was able to find both of them on the net, I didn't like reading them this way, but it was that or nothing, so well finally last year a friend brought them to me, I was really a happy girl.
And now some incredible and very talented ladies are joining efforts to start a study of these two amazing books. They are so into it that even created a blog so we can join together and exchange ideas, they have everything already worked out, with schedules and all.
Hop to We Read, We Blog, We Teach to join us, I'm sure we are going to have tons of fun. Wow, I'm really excited, I can't hardly wait. Thanks a lot for all your effort, see you in July!!!!

Adjective Mini-Unit!!!!!!!
I just finished an adjective mini-unit with all the things that have worked for my kiddos. You will find everything you need to teach or reinforce adjectives in a friendly way. Let your kids have fun while they are learning!!!!!! Sometimes I'm amazed with the great results that I have with my students, they think that I'm the best teacher in the world because I don't make them work ; ) Can you believe my darlings??? I don't know where did they get that notion, especially since I only work part-time with them, but well.... kids are just amazing!!!!
Here I leave you some pictures of the activities that you are going to find in the pack, and also there's a freebie when you download the preview, enjoy!!!!

Thanksgiving
We try to teach our kids as much as we can about the culture from the country they are acquiring their second language. But we do it in a very fun way. We are really used to celebrate Thanksgiving every year, of course for us is not a holiday so we have to go to school.
Since the beginning of November we start talking about the Pilgrims, Native Americans, and their history. This year we decided to teach the history through poems so we picked one for each class and they practice fluency and intonation while rehearsing it, it was a win-win situation. We loved the final result and the kiddos had a great time wearing their costumes, too.

Our Revolution Day!!!!!
In Mexico we celebrate our Revolution Day on November 20. In Mexico City there's always a huge parade, there are also lots of cheerlading squads and our famous athlete figures parade too, it's one of our most important national holidays and we celebrate it big time!!!!!
Of course in our schools we try to make something similar. We had to rehearse and rehearse until everything runs smoothly, you know with kids is almost impossible ; ) Nevertheless this year I had tons of fun with my kids. I just love them, they did an incredible job, I was really proud of them!!!!

Crazy Announcement!!!!!!!!
I open a store on Teachers Pay Teachers!!!!!! Yes, you read that right I'm crazy enough to open a store when I'm really new in the blog world, when I don't have many followers, but I really appreciate the ones I already have. In not so many words when not many know about my existence!!!!! So why I decided to open it, first because I'm tired of looking for the right things for my kids, I have bought lots of packets that don't cover the whole standards that we have, and of course I have to continue buying : ) And second and most important is that eventhough my kids are great, they are not native speakers and finding good materials for them is believe me quite difficult.
Here is when I stopped, and started thinking, mmm... well if I put together all the activities that we have done, and that have proven to work, what would happen then??? Honestly I don't know yet the answer to my question but I had to give it a try.
I decided to start with a packet about nouns. I believe that building a solid ground in grammar, while they are having fun is going to pay later as they become more independent and confident.
If by any chance you're interested I would love for you to stop by and leave your opinion. Hopefully you are going to follow me in this new adventure!!!!! In the meantime I leave you some pics, please let me know what you think.
