50 States Pack

A couple of days ago I post the first state project my kids worked on, now I want to show where they write all the information they research. You will find the 50 states with their maps, and some lines where the kids write: State's name, capital, abbreviation, nickname, bird, flower, and motto as a list, then they will color the state's map and its location in the U.S. map, finally they will have to look for the state in the word search, and that's it!!! My kiddos really enjoy working with the states, it's an activity they look forward to do. I will be posting soon a lot of pictures with my kids work, so you can have a better idea of what I'm talking about!!! In the meantime here I leave you my pack!

Calendars

I've always love calendars, I love to have them handy and in all possible sizes!!! For two years now I've made my very own calendars, I personalize them writing all important dates and school happenings, I place them inside my binder and that's it, I have my whole school year in one single place, easy to access and just the way I want them!!!! Here are some examples of the one that I'm using this year. I hope you love them as much as I do : )

50 States

As part of the social studies curriculum my students have to learn the 50 states, I have the whole year to teach the states with their capitals, abbreviations, nicknames, flower, birds, mottos, and important facts. We participate in a postcard exchange and it's very exciting when we received one, they love it!!!
Every month they do a project about a given state, they have to research all the information, and then  they explain their researches infront of the class. This is an example of the first project:

The front part of the trifold.

                     The inside of the trifold.

This first project was a huge success, they really enjoy learning about the states!!!!!! Have fun with the trifold and your students!

Learning vocabulary is one of the most important things my kids do, it helps them while they are reading and also develops a better fluency. But it has to be taught in a fun way! This year thanks to pinterest I made some vocabulary pictionaries that are related to the season and holiday for each month! My kids are having a blast with these pictionaries, they are becoming better readers and writers!!! Click here  to download Halloween words.
